The online event will take place across September 29-30, 2026, with Yana participating in the program on September 29.
This year’s event is built around the theme “Future in focus”, bringing together conversations about the profession, the skills behind language work, and the many directions a career can take within and beyond the language services industry.
A career in language services can look very different from one person to another. People move between translation, project management, operations, technology, client relationships, quality, and other areas, often carrying skills from one role into the next. What matters is not always the title someone starts with, but what they learn along the way and how they choose to build on it.
That question of where those skills can lead will be at the center of Yana’s session.

Yana’s session, “Building Career Mobility Inside and Outside Language Services,” will take place on September 29, from 14:45 to 15:20 GMT.
Career growth does not always follow a clearly marked route. The experience people gain in language services can open doors to different responsibilities, functions, and even industries, but recognizing those possibilities often starts with understanding what you are good at and what you want to do with it.
Yana will explore how language professionals can look at their existing experience from a different perspective, identify the strengths they can build on, and approach career development as something they can actively shape rather than simply follow.
“The language industry brings together people with very different skills, and today those skills can take us in more directions than ever. Career growth doesn’t have to mean climbing a predefined ladder. It means finding what you do best and developing it further. For me, it comes down to two questions: What do I want to achieve? and Where do I start? Answer those honestly, and the path starts to take shape.” says Yana Dinchiyska.
During the session, Yana will share perspectives on career mobility and on how professionals can make more intentional use of the skills and experience they have already developed, whether their next step is within language services or somewhere beyond it.
Connecting Through International Translation Day
ProZ.com’s International Translation Day will continue throughout September 30, bringing together language professionals for further presentations and discussions.
For Yana, taking part in the event is an opportunity to step outside the day-to-day work of running an LSP and look at the profession from a wider perspective. The people working across language services do not all follow the same path, and the skills they develop do not necessarily stay within the boundaries of translation and localization.
The two-day program will explore professional development, technology, changing roles, and the experiences of people working across different parts of the language industry, creating space for professionals to exchange perspectives and ideas.
