Interview

How many languages do you speak? Please write them in a list. Which is your mother tongue?

Chinese, English, Korean, and a little bit of Japanese. Chinese is my mother language.

What is your favorite sport or hobby in your free time? Why is it so? Any interesting stories on it?

Music. Besides languages, music is my favorite in my life. There’s no special reason, just because I have loved music since I was a very young child.

What was the most surprising thing you learned about Asia while working here?

There are many outstanding colleagues.

Favorite book or a book that changed your mindset and why it did?

“To Live” written by Yu Hua, and “Yesterday Once More” written by Liu Tong. Reading such books can help people escape disappointment and confusion.

Your most extreme experience so far in your life/biggest challenge in your life?

Using self-taught Korean worked as a companion interpreter for a project, not proficient enough, but it was an unforgettable experience. I learned piano and participated in piano competitions as an adult (after participating in work), they were just low-level piano competitions, but it was also an unforgettable challenge.

Your top 3 goals in professional life for the next 10 years

To improve my languages and various abilities for my career, and to always be happy to ensure good working conditions.
