Interview
How many languages do you speak? Please write them in a list. Which is your mother tongue?
Spanish – Mother tongue and English
What is your favorite sport or hobby in your free time? Why is it so? Any interesting stories on it?
I find immense joy in two passions: immersing myself in the rich tapestry of diverse cultures, and delving into aspects such as Architecture, Sculpture, and Painting, along with their fascinating History. And I take great pleasure in the art of cooking.
Top 3 things we don’t know about you? Might be something funny, quirky or strange 🙂
I really enjoy organizing events. I have been part of NGOs to support children. I was a fashion runway model in Acapulco. I am afraid of heights.
What was the most surprising thing you learned about Asia while working here?
The extensive diversity of Asian languages.
Favorite book or a book that changed your mindset and why it did?
The Knight in Rusty Armor. I found profound wisdom in its message. It illuminated the importance of introspection to locate the rusty armor within ourselves – those aspects of our being that hinder our personal growth and happiness. Reading this book I learned that by dismantling our internal barriers, we open the door to positive change. It’s a reminder that our attitudes and actions are within our control, and through self-awareness, we hold the power to redefine our narrative. This realization has empowered me to approach life with resilience, cultivating a mindset that welcomes challenges as opportunities for growth. It instilled in me the belief that with a positive attitude and proactive mindset, we can navigate life’s challenges.
Your most extreme experience so far in your life/biggest challenge in your life?
My most extreme experience was moving to Philadelphia at the age of 11, with limited knowledge of the language, and living with an unfamiliar family. It was a significant experience because I learned and immersed myself in English, as well as the culture of Pennsylvania, New and Jersey, which was markedly different from what I had known during family trips to California, Hawaii, and Texas. I discovered that each state in the United States has its own personality, deeply rooted in its history.
The biggest challenge in my life has been becoming a mother. From day one, you are an example of being an honest, consistent, and responsible human being. It has been the most beautiful experience life has offered me. Every day, I relish discovering the beauty in each moment of my daughter’s life. Even during challenging times, we navigate through together, finding solutions and creating a beautiful way to overcome whatever comes our way. And it’s a challenge that never ends, one that is thoroughly enjoyed.
