The world’s oldest independent company, Japan’s Kongō Gumi Co., Ltd. has a long history that spans 60 generations from when it was formed in 578 by a Korean immigrant when it was sold in 2006.

Don Shin, the Founder of 1-Stop, was fascinated by the dedication, craftsmanship, and longevity of Kongō Gumi Co., Ltd., and his aspiration to connect the East and the West grew.

The management principles that fueled 1-STOP’s development are as follows:

  • Choose the small area, where we can be best – and never stop until we reach the top in that area.
  • Always keep the promise – even after millennia.
  • All that comes from Business should be invested back into business to improve the service.
  • All net profits shall be used to improve service.

When this management philosophy and talented employees came together, our company grew as one of America’s biggest companies that specializes in Asian languages. Despite that fact, he is still working at the same desk and chair he bought in 1994 and became the first asset of the company.

Inspired by this story, we’ve kept the company values that Don set in the very beginning at the forefront, focusing on his and our vision.
